Descrizione

The course provides an in-depth overview of the main neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and Parkinsonian syndromes (such as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Multiple System Atrophy). It explores the pathogenetic mechanisms and the clinical manifestations—motor, cognitive, and behavioral—that characterize the different stages of these conditions. Particular attention is given to the available therapeutic options, both pharmacological and rehabilitative, and to the multidisciplinary collaboration among the various professionals involved in the care pathway.
The course also includes modules dedicated to identifying the needs of the patient and their family, integrating clinical cases and practical sessions to develop skills in planning personalized, person-centered interventions aligned with the patient’s values. A specific section focuses on effective and empathetic communication, providing tools to convey clear information, support shared decision-making, and address the educational and informational needs of patients and their families.
The program is completed by modules on the principles of bioethics, with particular emphasis on self-determination and respect for the dignity of the person throughout the care process.
