Descrizione

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the chemical and physical processes underlying climate change and their interconnections with economic dynamics at both the macroeconomic and microeconomic levels, as well as with technological innovation. It adopts a holistic perspective on the relationships between the environment, the economy, technology, and climate change, enabling participants to understand the complexity of these interconnected systems.
The course addresses key topics such as the sustainability of economic growth, the ecological and energy transition, and the major implications of climate change, which have become increasingly important in public policy, society, and the strategic planning of businesses and institutions. Particular emphasis is placed on the complexity of interactions across different disciplines and on the need for integrated knowledge to accurately interpret ongoing environmental, economic, and technological transformations.
Responding to the growing demand for professionals capable of working across disciplinary boundaries, the course bridges gaps in traditional educational pathways by integrating concepts from chemistry, ecology, economics, and engineering. This interdisciplinary approach equips participants with the knowledge needed to address complex sustainability challenges from multiple perspectives.
By fostering a deeper understanding of the interactions between economic systems and the environment, the course also supports more effective collaboration among different corporate and institutional functions involved in regulatory compliance, sustainability strategies, and environmental, social, and economic reporting. As such, it offers valuable opportunities for professional development while promoting dialogue and cooperation among experts from diverse backgrounds in increasingly complex and interconnected contexts.
