Arianna Berto obtained her PhD in Thermo-Mechanical Energy Engineering in 2021. Since 2023, she has been a Research Associate at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padova. Her research interests include the experimental and numerical investigation of condensation and vaporization of low-GWP refrigerants inside small-diameter channels, low-to-medium temperature thermal energy storage with phase change materials (PCMs), also in combination with solar sources such as concentrating solar power systems, and innovative solar thermal collectors with carbon nanofluids as working fluids. She took part in two ESA Parabolic Flight Campaigns to study the effect of varying gravity levels on in-tube condensation. For her doctoral thesis, she was awarded the 2023 Prize from the Italian Union of ThermoFluid Dynamics (UIT) and the 2024 Eurotherm Young Scientist Award. She is the author of more than 30 scientific papers (h-index 10).

Matteo Del Buono is a Scientific and Technical Advisor at Biologik System Srl, supporting the management of renewable energy plants, the development of innovative business models, and R&D in renewable energy. As Innovation Manager, he provides expertise in photovoltaic system design and coordinates innovation projects to foster sustainability and technological growth.

Francesco Guarino is an Associate Professor at the University of Palermo. His research focuses on building energy simulation, sustainability, and life cycle assessment. He leads the BMD Lab, participates in IEA and EU projects, and has authored over 140 scientific publications.

Massimo Izzi, MSc in Physics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” specializes in advanced photovoltaic technologies, from crystalline silicon to tandem solar cells. He combines deep expertise in device design, characterization, and circular economy of PVs. Currently, he manages EU and national R&D projects, driving innovation, sustainability, and technology transfer in the solar industry.

Matteo Meneghini received his Laurea in Electronic Engineering (summa cum laude) and the PhD in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering (University of Padova), working on the optimization of GaN-based LED and laser structures.
He is now full professor at the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padova. His main interest is the characterization, reliability and simulation of compound semiconductor devices (LEDs, Laser diodes, HEMTs) and solar cells.
Within these activities, he has published more than 300 journal and conference proceedings papers.

Roberto Speranza holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin and the Italian Institute of Technology. His research focuses on electrochemical technologies for energy harvesting and storage, particularly dye-sensitized solar cells and photo-capacitors. He specializes in designing, fabricating, and characterizing nanostructured materials and hybrid photovoltaic–supercapacitor systems for sustainable indoor applications.
