The course is an introduction to qualitative research methodology, with a particular focus on the case study approach. Starting with a brief analysis of the epistemological foundations, the following elements are analyzed: the main types of case studies; data collection techniques; and data types. In conclusion, data analysis and interpretation strategies will be addressed. The course includes the use and analysis of empirical cases, with specific reference to infrastructure investments and public-private partnerships.

At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:

• Interpret and critically evaluate findings

The course is aimed at:

• Students of the "Infrastructure Investments and Public Private Partnerships" course (Master’s degree in “Intelligent Civil Infrastructures Engineering”) and students on other bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes;

• Professionals looking to acquire the skills to conduct case studies (e.g., consulting firms, etc.).
